THERMOCOUPLES
GENERAL INFORMATION :
There are two main types of temperatures sensing
devices for industrial use, the resistance bulb and the
thermocouple. The thermocouple is the most widely used, and
its principle lies in Seebecks discovery which was, when two
dissimilar metals are joined in a closed circuit and the two
junctions are at different temperatures, an e.m.f. develops.
This e.m.f. can be fed into a recorder, controller or
indicator.
